I’m running for Town Council because I love this place and the people who make it special.
I’ve spent my career bringing people together, solving problems, and building organizations that serve their communities. I’m running to bring that same practical, collaborative approach to San Anselmo.

The life we’ve
built here.
I grew up in Virginia in a family shaped by public service. My grandmother, Virginia DeSimone, served as President of the League of Women Voters of Virginia and as a Vice President of the national League of Women Voters. My mother, Jane Dittmar, has also spent much of her life in public and community service. Their examples taught me that public service is both a responsibility and a practical way to improve people’s lives.
My wife and I chose San Anselmo as the place to raise our family, and it has become deeply important to us. I love the everyday things that make San Anselmo such a special place to live: running into friends around town, spending time outside on foot or bike, exploring the trails, watershed, parks, and open spaces around us, working in the garden, cooking for family and friends, and being part of a community where people genuinely care about their neighbors and their town.

Professionally, I’ve spent my career at the intersection of public policy, nonprofit leadership, and community service. I began in Washington, D.C., working in the U.S. House of Representatives before moving into government relations with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I later held state and national leadership roles with Save the Children, working with elected officials, public agencies, and community partners to advance policies and programs supporting children, families, and communities.
Today, I serve as CEO of ExtraFood, a Bay Area nonprofit that feeds people and combats climate change through food recovery—rescuing good food that would otherwise go to waste and getting it to people who need it. Leading ExtraFood means managing a growing regional organization, overseeing budgets and operations, and building partnerships with local governments, businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and community members.
That work has taught me that practical leadership starts with listening, bringing different perspectives to the table, using resources responsibly, and staying focused on solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives. That’s the approach I want to bring to Town Council.

Taking care of
what we love.
I want San Anselmo to remain a place where families can thrive, local businesses can succeed, our neighborhoods and natural environment are cared for, and people feel connected to their community and local government. Protecting what we love about San Anselmo also means planning responsibly for the future—from our streets and infrastructure to wildfire and flood preparedness, housing, and the long-term health of our town.
I’m running because I believe in public service, but also for a simpler reason: I love living here, and I want to do my part to take care of this place and help it thrive for the next generation.
